Course Name: 5-Day Drawing Workshop Course ID: A&D-5DDW-211 Ages: 8-12 Price: $85 (includes 5 sessions each 1 hour in duration) Course Description: In this expansive and engaging 5-Day Drawing Workshop, students will further develop their drawing skills and techniques. Through a series of demonstrations, and guided exercises we will expand our knowledge of, and practice the following drawing concepts and techniques: • Drawing What You See (seeing vs. knowing, blind contour line drawings, capturing the main shapes, restating line, gauging & measuring) • Creating Depth in Our Drawings (dimension, perspective, foreground-middle ground-background, texture, tone, highlights-shading-cast shadows, color) • Optical Illusions & Foreshortening • Figure Drawing Exercises (skeletonize, mannequin, cube & marshmallow people, gesture, movement, subtractive & silhouette) • Planning Our Drawings using a View Finder & Thumbnail Sketches (planning: page orientation, subject selection, placement, texture, tone, color, etc.) There will be plenty of time to experiment and flex & express our creativity! Instructor: Stacy Johnston Course Location: Online Live via Zoom Number of Students - Min / Max: 4 / 8 Prerequisites: Zoom Capabilities. You will receive Zoom conference access details in advance of the class start date. Course Materials: N/A * * Home Supplies to Have Readily Accessible: • Sharpened pencils • Eraser • Ruler or straight edge • Black ball point pen • Paper (sketchbook or approximately 20 sheets of printer paper) • Clipboard • Crayons (minimally red, yellow and blue) • Color Pencils • Kid friendly scissors • Glue stick • Tape • Surface protection covering (placemat, plastic tablecloth, newspaper, etc.) Custom Courses: This posted course is designed for students ages 8-12.
